Ubuntu 20.04 LTS – download free torrent

You can download Ubuntu 20.04 directly from the Ubuntu server from the link below. This will allow you to download a 64-bit .iso release image of approximately 2.7 GB.

After the download is complete, you will need to burn the .iso image of Ubuntu 20.04 to a blank DVD or burn it to a USB drive using, for example, a tool like Etcher. Then simply insert the DVD or plug in the USB and restart the computer by selecting the appropriate boot option.

I always recommend that you first use the “Try Ubuntu Without Installation” option. This allows you to go to a full desktop session, which you can safely explore and see if all your hardware is working properly. If you like what you see, you can run the installer application from the live image to install the OS on your system.

What’s New in Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

If you regularly read this site, you will be aware of the changes that Focal is offering so far.

Ubuntu 20.04 runs on the Linux 5.4 kernel, has a faster download speed thanks to new kernel compression algorithms, and contains many new graphics drivers, software, and utilities:

  • Linux 5.4
  • Improved support for installing ZFS
  • OEM logo displayed at boot time
  • GNOME Shell 3.36
  • Performance enhancements
  • New lock screen
  • Do not disturb mode
  • Updated settings panels
  • Visible Pause option in the Status Menu
  • Extra dark theme
  • Fractional scaling support
  • Snap Ubuntu Software store
  • Feral Game Mode has been added to the archive

Do not forget that you can also upgrade directly to 20.04 from 19.10 or 18.04, which may be easier than installing in a new way, especially if you have many files to back up.
